Deux épreuves internationales au programme
Cette année le circuit sera modifié puisque son tracé sera redessiné depuis la sortie de la piscine jusqu’au virage de la Rascasse comte tenu du réaménagement d’une grande partie de la Darse Sud, réduisant ainsi sa longueur de 1079 à 1068 m.
Comme chaque année une épreuve réservée à la catégorie KF3; (Catégorie de haut niveau pour les pilotes de 13 à 15 ans. Moteur 125 cm³ 2-temps d'environ 28 ch (14 000 tr/min) à refroidissement liquide, avec démarreur électrique et embrayage, préparation autorisée. Châssis libre aux normes CIK. Le poids minimum est de 145 kg avec pilote.
Pour la première fois à Monaco, la catégorie KZ2; (Catégorie reine du kart à boîte de vitesses, à partir de 15 ans. Châssis libre (aux normes CIK) avec freins avant. Moteur 2-temps à refroidissement liquide de 125 cm³ à 6 vitesses avec embrayage développant 42 ch environ, préparation autorisée. Le poids minimum avec pilote est de 175 kg). Cette catégorie succède à l’Intercontinental C dont plusieurs courses étaient au programme des anciennes « Monaco Kart Cup ».
Une épreuve d’endurance réservée aux équipes de 3 à 5 pilotes, novices ou confirmés, se déroulant en trois manches de 2 heures complètera cette manifestation.

The 13th Monaco Kart Cup will be held by the Automobile Club de Monaco from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th October 2009.
This event forms part of the CIK/FIA racing calendar. The Automobile Club, who is organising the event, is providing the most spectacular of temporary urban circuits, employing the lower part of the legendary Monaco Formula One track.
This year the racetrack will be slightly modified from last year, in the section from the exit of the swimming pool to the Rascasse corner, due to a redesign of a large part of the Darse Sud. This shortens the circuit from 1079 m to 1068 m.

Minimum weight is 145 kg with driver.
And for the first time in Monaco, a KZ2 class race: this is the top category for karts with gearboxes, for ages 15 and upwards. Free use of CIK-approved chassis with front brakes. 125 cm³, 2-stroke, water-cooled engine producing about 42 hp, with six-speed gearbox and preparation allowed. Minimum weight with driver is 175 kg.
This category replaces the “Intercontinental C” serial of which several races were included in the past "Monaco Kart Cup program.
An endurance race will complete the weekend. Teams of 3 to 5 novice or experienced drivers will take part and the race will be divided into three two-hour legs.
